About Us
Founded in early 2004, Geek Certified is an independent organization that promotes honesty, integrity, and trust in the web hosting industry. We believe that through an open certification and review process, we can reward companies who are proactive in maintaining these core values.

The Process
We first accept applications from web hosting companies and organizations. We collect contact and support information. There is no charge to the applicant. Once we have received the application, a member of the Geek Certified staff looks over the supplied information. An investigation is then initiated to partially verify the supplied information. Our staff also checks over website accessibility, professionalism, and finally, technical support. Our staff may conduct random support tests, by emailing support and recording the response time. Once a member of our staff has collected enough information, the applicant receives either a level 1 certification, level 2 certification, level 3 certification, or is denied certification.

Mediation
Sometimes disputes between web hosts and their customers are inevitable, often with the most reputable of web hosts. We believe that a speedy, private resolution of such disputes is appropriate, to benefit both parties. We work free of charge with web hosts and their clients to ensure neither gets taken advantage of in hostile situations. Our goal is to prevent amplification of disputes, and to discourage defamation of character.

Independent
Certifications are never influenced by any contributions-including donations and advertising revenue. We maintain that all certifications are issued based solely on our observations. Advertising is sold strictly for the purpose of covering costs.
